The Amputee Connection of Redlands

PEER VISITS

On a Peer Visit an amputee visits someone who is facing an amputation, or who has recently been through surgery.  The visit can be at the persons home, the hospital, a rehabilitation facility, or by telephone.  Also, the Peer Visit can be for friends, family or caregivers as well as the amputee.

An important detail is that at medical facilities, the patient must request the Peer Visit.  This is due to the HIPPA regulations concerning patient privacy.

Many of our members are ACA (Amputee Coalition of America) certified Peer Visitors.  We attempt to match the Peer Visitor with the patient as much as possible.  The match is by age, sex, and the type of amputation.

Request a Peer Visit

Send an email to Bill Nessel at wildbilln@roadrunner.com
Please provide a telephone number so we can schedule the visit.

To help match the visitor, we should know the age, sex, type of amputation, and the cause.
